Merry Belated Christmas and Happy New Year

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
I'm sorry we're so late in blogging about our Christmas and New Years celebrations.
We've been pretty busy lately but here the post finally is.
We celebrated Christmas with Daddy's family on the 22nd and 23rd. The Currie children came over on the 23rd, we made gingerbread houses with them. It was hard to see Anna and Martha's house through the candy and icing!

We had a Christmas recital that night. Mamie, Daddy's mother, has been teaching us piano for the past few years. This year Anna and I took a break and learned violin from Joy instead.

On Christmas morning we exchanged our homemade gifts. Every year on June 25 (half way to Christmas) we draw names and each person has half a year to make the person who's name they drew a present. Anna made Daddy this poster of pictures our family and of Daddy as a little boy.

Joy drew Samuel's name and made him stilts from coffee cans. He loved wearing them!

After Christmas we went to Virginia to visit our dear friends the Moores. The Moody family came over for New Year's, it was nice to meet their family.

All the boys enjoyed playing foosball! Erin Moody, Dabney Moore and William watched their big brothers play.

On New Year's Eve we had another recital with the Moores and Moodys.

The six oldest Moore children played this piece on their instruments. It is called "Star of Bethlehem." Darbie Lee (13) and DeLane (14) played the violin, Dain (10) played the mandolin, Dane' (17) played the hammer dulcimer, Demie (18) played the guitar and Daylie (8) played the tambourine (sorry, Daylie, I don't think I got you on camera).

We had a great time of fellowship and fun with them. They were wonderful hosts and hostesses.

I hope you have all had a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
