A Review: ABC Say It With Me

Over the past few years, our family has searched for movies that encourage and edify the entire family.  Although we have found many great feature films and documentaries, we still lacked something that even the littlest ones could watch, understand, and put into practice.  The "kid videos" out there had bickering siblings, disrespectful children, or--worse still--a "Christian" worldview so warped and twisted that we couldn't see Christ for all the fluff.

And on top of that, what with poor production quality, targeting three-year-olds, etc., they put the older members of the family to sleep.

Enter ABC Say It With Me: Bible Memory Verses.  Here is something our entire family from two-year-old James to Mommy and Daddy (ages withheld) can watch, and be encouraged and inspired by God's Word.  Produced by a family of thirteen, ABC proclaims family unity, Scriptural truths, and, most importantly of all, the gospel, all while teaching the alphabet.  Every letter from A to Z has a corresponding Bible verse recited along with a one to two minute vignette showing the verse put into practice.  In "P" a little boy puts on the armor of God; in letter "Y" a young lady is the "light of the world" to a harried restaurant waiter; and in "N" a man climbing his way up the corporate ladder learns that no man can serve two masters.

And through it all, we learn  Scripture.  These verses have become a part of our everyday conversation: "Did you love in deed and truth?  That wasn't sharing, was it?  You know how in "K" we see..."  What a wonderful way to hide God's Word in our hearts, that we might not sin against Him!

I have been blessed--our family has been blessed--by ABC Say It With Me and we can't wait until our DVD is shipped.  If you can't wait either, go to Moore Family Films to pre-order and watch each letter online.

I pray that you will be blessed by it too.

Happy Anniversary

On September 18, 1993 these two people committed to love each other "until death do us part".  Twenty years later, they love each other as much as ever.

Please join me in wishing Mommy and Daddy a very
HAPPY ANNIVERSARY!

"...so they are no longer two, but one flesh.
What therefore God has joined together, let not man separate."

Jackson Area Local Bible Bee 2013

We had a great time hosting our local Bible Bee again.  We were blessed with so many volunteers to help and things went so smoothly.  We so appreciate all of you!

Our turnout was a little higher this year, and it is always encouraging to see families in the Word together--either through the Bible Bee memorization/study or through other ways.

Our family is especially excited because on Wednesday we found out that Joy, Delie, and Anna made it to the national bee in November.  I am amazed at how much all of the children can memorize, even our little ones, and it is a blessing to hear so much scripture recited throughout the day as the girls prepare for the contest.

Since we were all so busy hosting and competing, we did not take many pictures but our dear friends the Smiths (who were also a huge help at locals) did a great post on it at their blog if you want to see more.
